Short biodata of Felix
Felix, a multi-instrumentalist, has been associated with music 'professionally' for around 11 years now. In the mid 1990’s, he joined the “Innocent Eyes” band which in due course became one of the most popular & hottest acts in north eastern India. With the band, he has played countless shows, gigs….. At that time, apart from being in the band, he was also a solo artist with a backing band concentrating mostly on instrumental numbers.
In about 1998, Felix formed his present day band “FELIXIS”. FELIXIS performs regularly both within and outside the state as well at shows, clubs, hotels, festivals, Great Indian Rock Project 7, Nokia Pub Rock Fest....... Internationally Felix has performed in the USA, Singapore, Malaysia.....Regarding local shows, FELIXIS performs at countless gigs both big and small.
In about the year 2002, Felix also formed another band “Incantation”. With this band too he has performed at many shows, concerts….
Again in the year 2003, Felix was recognized and assisted by Fender USA to be a part of the Boston Guitar Sessions at the world famous Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, featuring guitarists from around the world. It was here that Felix also got invaluable experience from among the best in the world like Dave Martone, who has performed and done clinics with Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Morse, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Mike Portnoy……..just to name a few…. jazz guitarist and professor at Berklee, Benjamin Sher……..etc………
Felix has also collaborated with ace Singapore drummer Kenny Hogan. With Kenny, he has done shows in Singapore.
Felix had also performed in Los Angeles, USA, in August' 06 at the International Pop Overthrow along with other US & international bands/artists.
FELIX's style of music includes rock, metal, classic rock, progressive rock, jazz rock, fusion, neo classical rock, blues....etc...just about anything !!! so long as it's good music !!
Apart from being a performer, Felix is also a much respected music educator. In Nov. 2000, Felix opened his own music school “Andante Music School” - now called Andante Institute of Contemporary Music (AICM), where he is the proprietor as well as the only instructor. Till date, he has taught around 1500 +. He teaches various styles of music like rock, metal, gospel music……and as a result his students also come from different backgrounds – students, religious people, teenagers, elderly people, kids……..etc…..
To wind it up, apart from being a musician in the popular commercial music scene, he is also a gospel musician.
